Let's get to know each other... a few words about me... speech-bubble

Nina Ambroziak

My passion is the therapy of young children and the development of their potential by creating an environment in which they learn about their own capabilities, build their self-esteem, and find the answer to the most important question in their lives: Who am I?

Nina Ambroziak
I am a psychologist, sensory integration therapist and Play & Creative Art Therapy therapist, supervisor and trainer. I take a holistic approach to children's therapy taking into account their mental, emotional, physical needs, taking into account their environment. My particular interest is in the use of play in children's therapy.

What is Play Therapy?

MAIN PRINCIPLES OF PLAY THERAPY
Play Therapy is a structured, theoretical approach to therapy, based on the child's learning and communication processes. The method uses children's primary activity, which is playing. In it, the therapist takes an active role, as by emotionally tuning in to the child, he or she gives the child the opportunity to express himself or herself through play. During therapy, the child has the opportunity to exist and be himself, thanks to the therapist's unconditional acceptance.
The therapist uses Play Therapy to help the child express what is problematic for the child, especially when the child does not have the verbal skills to express their thoughts and feelings. Through Play Therapy, the therapist can help the child learn more adaptive behaviour in situations where the child presents emotional or social deficits. The positive relationship that develops between therapist and child during Play Therapy sessions provides the corrective emotional experiences that are essential for healing. Play Therapy can also be used to stimulate cognitive development, in addition, it provides insight into the child's dysfunctional ways of thinking and their internal conflicts, providing the child with many possible ways to resolve them.

WHAT DO PARENTS SAY ABOUT THERAPY?

As experienced parents, we did not expect any problems with our son's adaptation in the kindergarten. However, after changing kindergarten for the second time, we found that it would not be easy. Our son did not even want to leave the house when hearing about kindergarten. Thanks to several Play Therapy sessions, our child no longer suffers from morning separations. The umbilical cord has been cut

When I saw the amount of negative feelings my child was experiencing during my child's consultation at Play Therapy, I realised that it was not just his problem. I don't give myself the right to express anger either. This atmosphere of unconditional acceptance of my child allowed me to see our true emotions.

Our child, after a one-off visit with the psychologist, said "Mum, I want to come back here and play again".

Warm, open to the child and their family

I didn't think that play therapy could do anything with my 4-year-old child who became aggressive in kindergarten. It only took 6 sessions for my son to get rid of his negative emotions towards his mother, who suddenly abandoned her children. He threw away his aggression and accepted his anger at his mother. So did I.

A competent psychologist who not only sees the child's problem, but is also able to identify its causes

If your child needs psychological therapy, I strongly recommend Play Therapy. The child gets a lot of pleasure from it, the development is self-paced

When my child started biting other children in the kindergarten, I was shocked. After an observation session of the child, the psychologist and I found several reasons for the biting, but most importantly: one by one, we eliminated the causes. Success. The child no longer bites anyone. I think that with the help of Play Therapy he is able to fight for his interests in a different way, to defend his boundaries.

During the divorce, our 4-year-old daughter stopped speaking. We suspected autism or another developmental disorder in her. During the course of therapy, it became clear that she was suffering greatly from our separation. Thanks to the meetings with the psychologist, our daughter speaks and has a good relationship with each of her parents, even after the divorce

We came to Play Therapy on the recommendation of a speech therapist, as our deaf daughter was not speaking despite having a cochlear implant. Our daughter reacted to everything by crying and throwing herself on the floor. We felt powerless as parents of a deaf child. Meetings of the whole family with a psychologist, showed us the difficulties in communicating with our extraordinary child. All this with respect for the child and for us as parents. The observation of the whole family's play was done diligently and we were kept informed of the results. After eight meetings of the whole family (2+2 model) with the psychologist at Play Therapy, our daughter became more communicative and her speech gradually began to develop. She no longer throws herself on the floor when she wants to protest

We started using your psychological support when our son was diagnosed with autism. After a year of Play Therapy, no one at the new school our child started attending suspected autism. This therapy has changed a lot in my child's life and in mine too. I became the mother of my child, not just the carer of a child with autism.
